Living a healthy lifestyle is important to me – especially in light of all of the great restaurants that I often visit. Fitting in exercise when possible, eating an organic, plant-based diet, drinking water and getting plenty of sleep are all part of it. I try to stay up to speed and well-read on ways in which to improve, so I was elated when I had the chance to meet Danielle DeCelles of Chicago Wellness, a Holistic Nutritionist based in Chicago who has clients all over the world. Danielle specializes in alternative, holistic healthcare, nutrition coaching, and supervised fasting, weight loss and detoxification.

I recently visited Danielle in her downtown Chicago office for a complimentary consultation. I learned that Danielle first worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative. However, after making the move to a nutritional company, she realized that she was not helping people in the way she would have liked. After studying at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, she then started her own wellness business in which she educates patients one-on-one in order to teach them how to have a healthy relationship with food, because how one eats can significantly affect how one feels.

Danielle is a proponent of Superfoods, and encourages that her clients incorporate them into their diets. She follows the philosophy of Functional Medicine – a holistic approach to healthcare which considers your symptoms, medical history, and various factors affecting your life. Some of the areas in which Danielle specializes include energy, sleep, breathing, body, pain, skin, emotional, and stomach issues.

I really enjoyed my time with Danielle and could immediately tell how passionate she is about living a healthy lifestyle and imparting her wisdom to others so that they can, too. She certainly practices what she preaches and it shows. I could have talked with Danielle for hours about healthy eating, various Superfoods, and exercise regimens, and I enjoyed hearing about the success stories that she has overseen.
